We do it to build more open, inclusive and prosperous countries for people everywhere.

We are a global team of over 800 changemakers, operating in more than 40 countries, across five continents. We are political strategists, policy experts, delivery practitioners, technology specialists and more. We speak more than 45 languages. We are working on over 100 projects, tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges. We’re all here at TBI to make a difference.

In a world of ever more complex challenges, we believe diversity of background and perspective is a strength. We pride ourselves on a culture that values and nurtures difference. We are dedicated to unlocking potential, not only for the countries we work in but also for each of our team members. No matter where you’re from or who you are, if you’re passionate about the transformative power of progressive politics, we invite you to build a better future with us.

Overview & Purpose

The Fabric / Power BI Developer plays a central role in shaping TBI’s modern data platform using Microsoft Fabric. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, models, and visualisations that deliver meaningful, actionable insights across the organisation.

Working across Fabric components such as Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Power BI, the developer will create and maintain robust, governed datasets and reports that support a wide range of business needs. The role integrates data from enterprise systems including Salesforce, Workday, and other internal platforms, enabling end-to-end visibility and self-service analytics across our digital ecosystem.

This is a technical, hands-on role best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, Agile environment and enjoys building scalable data solutions that make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Development in Microsoft Fabric: Build and maintain data pipelines, models, and visualisations using tools such as Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Power BI.
  • Data Integration and Transformation: Develop scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines to bring together data from Salesforce, Workday, and internal systems using Fabric-native tools.
  • Lakehouse and Warehouse Management: Design and optimise data storage and querying layers to support both operational reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Data Modelling and Visualisation: Create reusable, performant semantic models and interactive Power BI dashboards tailored to user needs.
  • Data Governance and Quality: Apply consistent taxonomy, metadata, and documentation practices to ensure trustworthy, well-understood datasets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor pipeline and report performance, applying best practices in data optimisation and incremental refresh.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work with cross-functional team members to refine backlog items and deliver value through data products built in Microsoft Fabric.

Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Power BI.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic modelling.
  • Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes using cloud-native tools.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce data structures and reporting use cases.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and architecture (e.g. star/snowflake schemas).
  • Strong grasp of data governance and documentation best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile, product-focused teams.
