Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business management or sales, with a focus on financial products or services (experience in banking, financial services, or fintech preferred).
  • Proven track record in sales and business development, with experience in driving revenue growth and managing client relationships.
  • Strong experience in sourcing and managing funding partners, including banks, DFIs, asset managers, and grant providers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product management and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with experience in managing key partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market trends, sales data, and customer insights to inform strategy.
  • Deep understanding of deposit products, financial markets, and funding mechanisms.

Job Title         : Business Manager – Deposit Solutions

Reports To     : Chief Product and Strategy Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Business Manager – Deposit Solutions to lead the growth and sales strategy for deposit products, while also sourcing and managing relationships with key funding partners such as banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), asset managers, and grant providers. This role requires a combination of strong sales leadership, strategic thinking, partnership management, and collaboration with the product management team to ensure the growth of our deposit solutions.

Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and drive sales for deposit products, including savings accounts, term deposits, and digital banking solutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market penetration and achieve revenue targets for deposit solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, external partners, and stakeholders to support the growth of deposit products.

Sourcing and Managing Funding Partners:

  • Identify, source, and establish strategic partnerships with funding partners such as banks, DFIs, asset managers, and grant providers to support the funding needs for deposit solutions.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with these partners to secure optimal funding terms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to structure funding solutions that meet the financial requirements of deposit products.
  • Act as the primary liaison with funding partners, negotiating terms and ensuring strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.

Strategic Planning and Business Growth:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute business strategies for deposit solutions, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and market opportunities.
  • Identify key market trends, competitive opportunities, and customer needs to inform the growth strategy for deposit products.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at increasing market share and enhancing the profitability of deposit products.

Collaboration with Product Management:

  • Work closely with the product management team to ensure the development of deposit products that meet market demands and customer expectations.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the product team, based on sales performance and customer feedback, to help shape future deposit product offerings.

Customer Experience and Relationship Management:

  • Promote a customer-centric approach across deposit solutions, ensuring that offerings are aligned with customer needs and expectations.
  • Work with customer support and operations teams to streamline processes and improve the overall customer journey for deposit products.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities, refine sales strategies, and make data-driven decisions.

Risk and Compliance Awareness:

  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure all deposit solutions and funding arrangements comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and address potential risks associated with deposit products and funding partnerships to ensure business continuity.
