The AI and Data Policy team is seeking an Executive Director, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Technology Policy Partnerships, to lead and manage our external relationships on AI, data, and related technology policy issues. This role will involve strategic oversight and relationship management with third parties, including financial services, technology, and general business trade associations, coalition bodies, financial services industry and tech industry policy counterparts, research institutions, and global civil society contacts focused on AI and data policy issues. Key responsibilities include working with the Global AI Policy Office and firmwide partners to develop and execute advocacy strategies supported by third party engagement to influence AI, data, and technology policy at the national and international levels. The Director will play a critical role in in liaising with other partners across the firm to develop and carry forward key messages and advocacy objectives, including partners in Global Government Relations, Communications, Corporate Responsibility, the Chief Data and Analytics Office, and the Office of the Chief Information Officer and relevant business partners..
Job Responsibilities
- Support the firm’s external engagement and thought leadership strategy for AI and data policy issues.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key third parties on AI, data, and related technology policy issues, including with tech and general business trade associations, coalition bodies, research institutions, and global civil society organizations.
- Foster bilateral relationships with financial sector industry peers and technology industry partners to advance JPMorganChase AI and data policy objectives.
- Partner with internal research teams, support strategy development for external research partnerships including with think tanks and academic research institutions in support of business and policy priorities.
- Support strategic policy engagement and thought leadership, internationally, on AI and data policy issues on behalf of JPMC. Working alongside firmwide partners, develop policy positions and carry those forward with external trade associations, coalitions, policy thought leaders. .
- Deliver subject matter expertise on AI and data issues to key internal stakeholders working with outside partners on these issues, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and values.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate AI policy considerations into the firm’s overall partnerships strategy: Work closely with Corporate Responsibility, the Chief Data and Analytics Office, and Global Technology Strategy & Partnerships teams to ensure strategic alignment and resource allocation on AI, data, and technology partnerships engagements.
- Ensure consistent messaging and coordination across internal teams to support the firm’s AI, data, and technology policy objectives.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in policy advocacy, partnerships, government relations, or a related role, with a focus on AI and technology policy
- Proven track record of managing strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including trade associations, industry coalitions, research institutions, and civil society organizations
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and related policy issues, including regulatory and social impact considerations
- Internal stakeholder management experience, including in building consensus inside of large organizations, working in a highly cross-functional environment, and coordinating work across diverse internal teams to drive results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences and build consensus
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex policy challenges
- Mastery of core Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- BS / BA degree or equivalent experience
- Network of leaders across industry, civil society, and government active in related public policy areas (with an emphasis on AI and data issues)
