Business Sweden is seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Senior Project Manager who is eager to be part of our talented team in Lagos as part of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. As a team we advise both Large- & Mid-sized companies as well as Start-ups on how to capture the growth opportunities in Nigeria, working closely with other offices on the African continent.
Sweden’s trade future is increasingly tied to the Middle East and Africa (MEA), a region that represent some of the world’s fastest growing economies. There is a wealth of opportunities particularly connected to the green and digital transition, where Swedish expertise is highly sought-after. The average growth in the region is more than three percent, with several areas still dependent on foreign aid. That is why this region in many aspects will be in the center of the policy development bringing aid and development measures closer to trade promotion.
The role as Senior Project Manager includes both strategic and operational responsibilities such as:
- Drive client dialogues, and take on full sales cycle responsibility including monitoring leads, developing pipeline, and developing project scope, proposals, and cost
- Lead, manage, and develop project team members to ensure successful project deliveries and team competency development
- Design and drive analytical work, secure that insights and recommendations are well underpinned and packaged in an easy to understand and concrete manner
- Building strong client relationships, design and drive analytical work, secure that insights and recommendations are well underpinned and packaged
- Proactively find new business opportunities, drive insight selling in the region and have an active role in developing our value propositions
- Contribute to strategic, high-impact projects that make a real difference – both for Swedish companies and for broader societal development in Nigeria.
As a Senior Project Manager at Business Sweden, you interact with a wide range of stakeholders within client organizations as well as governmental agencies, academia, and Business Sweden colleagues around the world.
You will report to the Trade Commissioner and the position is based in Lagos, Nigeria, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients globally, as required.

Formal requirements
- Academic degree in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience from a consultancy firm or equivalent.
- You have experience of leading and coaching consultant teams and prior experience from an international environment.
- You have a proven track record in sales and the ability to independently drive client dialogues and take on full sales cycle responsibility.
- You bring a strong consulting skill set: hypothesis-led problem solving, structuring, and communicating complex ideas, strategic thinking.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work proactively and independently with relevant goals and tasks towards growing the region.
- You are result- and customer-oriented with a strategic mind-set and business acumen.
- Experience from living/working in other parts of the world is a merit.
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English is a requirement. Additional languages are meriting.
- Legally authorised to work in Nigeria.
