As a Senior Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the researcher and researcher support communities, system and process owners and wider stakeholders to support delivery of a focused but ambitious programme of works. Focussed initially on research computing, the role will in time likely contribute more widely to development of administrative platforms, data and analytics capabilities, research data management and more.For the right individual, this varied and stimulating role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to our world-leading position, and the impact of our researchers on the world.About the roleAs a Senior Business Analyst in the Research Portfolio, you will work collaboratively with the portfolio team, as well as with representatives from academic Divisions, departments and colleges, end-users, system and process owners and technical teams to identify and define technology, process and other solutions to end-user requirements.Alongside demonstrable professional skills and experience, the postholder will exhibit the curiosity, attention to detail, and proactivity necessary to quickly assimilate the process and system landscape across the portfolio, including key dependencies, and to build credibility and influence with senior stakeholders.The successful applicant will be supported by the well-established Business Analysis team in IT Services. There will be appropriate training and guidance to help you develop key skills and capabilities as part of this opportunity.About youYou will have experience mapping and designing processes for fast-paced, highly technical and at times complex operational teams, and providing analysis on opportunities for improvement. You will have an understanding on the role that the technology plays and you will appreciate where shared IT infrastructure may offer opportunities to improve services and underlying processes.You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to shape your messaging to different audiences, build consensus and bring teams together to make real change at the University.You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex issues and propose effective workable solutions, building on your experience of working in a complex environment with a wide range of parallel and mutually dependent activities.You will have proven experience of working collaboratively with University stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships so that you can understand user needs and represent their voice in this strategic programme of work. Your proven negotiation skills will help with defining the scope of the work and agree on competing user requirements.You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach, able to respond to changing demands and priorities.
