We are on the lookout for Senior analysts who will work with our teams in projects and programmes related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
For over 25 years, our consultants have been supporting and guiding our clients to achieve low-carbon climate-resilient development. We assess contexts and baselines, design strategies and frameworks, develop policies, programmes and projects and unlock finance for public and private sector clients across the world.
As part of a growing organisation, we are continuously expanding our portfolio and geographic reach. This means we expect to engage additional Senior analysts over time and are keen to connect with individuals who can grow with us as new opportunities emerge.
You will support E Co’s teams across our seven service areas in emerging markets: Design and Development of Projects and Programmes, Strategy Formulation, Policy Development,Market Assessment, Evaluation, Training and Development and Funding support.
This position is fully remote.
Duties
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, including literature reviews and background searches on a broad range of subjects related to sustainable energy and climate change. This would include data sourcing and calculations, policy analysis, report reviews, etc.
- Collect data using various methods (e.g. desktop research, interviews, surveys) and analyse data gathered (e.g. greenhouse gas emissions calculations, financial / economic analysis, policy, barrier and comparative analysis)
- Draft and present findings in presentations and reports
- Coordinate inputs from co-workers and external contractors (international and local consultants) to deliver our services on time and consistent with our quality standards
- Devise strategies and interventions based on situation analysis, best practice and client requirements
- Schedule, attend and contribute to meetings (assignment-related), including providing progress reports
- Support tender preparation and project-related marketing campaigns, by researching, collecting, analysing and compiling required content
- Maintain assignment (project) filing in line with the knowledge management practice and get well acquainted with the company portfolio and project references
- Contribute to E Co’s strategic initiatives as defined through internal strategy meetings
Essential requirements
- Postgraduate degree and an outstanding academic record
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- An MS Excel / Google Sheets expert with an exceptional ability to structure and process quantitative data and qualitative information and draw insightful conclusions from them
- Sound knowledge and experience of energy access and/or climate mitigation / resilience sectors
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathetic and open
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet challenging deadlines while delivering work to a high standard
- Highly conversant with Internet and office applications
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in another language (including French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian / Croatian, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese)
Highly desirable
- Computer programming knowledge and experience
- Relevant experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia-Pacific
- A network of contacts in the sustainable and international development sector
- Proven and recent experience with development and/or implementation and/or evaluation of international technical assistance projects
- Demonstrable knowledge and interest in one or more of the following areas: Sustainable cities / transport, renewable energy / energy efficiency, climate change adaptation / resilience in agriculture, water, forestry, or other sectors, financial and economic analysis of investments and projects related to climate change / environment

The gross annual salary for this role ranges from £30,500 to £43,500. Your final offer will be determined by your relevant experience, competencies, and internal equity, ensuring coherence within our grading structure. While we account for market conditions when benchmarking our roles, your final placement will be managed firmly within this established grade range.
