Our Design Researcher with experience of interaction design will be the instrumental part of the team, focused on User Research, Strategy formation, cross-functional collaboration, and working together with Head of User Experience design on setting and executing research strategy, and leading the teams by example. You will get to bring your creativity to a team that is fast paced, continuously evolving, and vital to our mission of providing the best cancer care for patients. You will get to make your mark here at Ontada by:
- Leading the User Research efforts on the major Ontada Digital Product initiatives.
- Setting Strategy for User Research across all Ontada products, planning and executing.
- Working with a team of designers, product managers, and R&D colleagues.
In this role you will:
- Create and orchestrate the user research strategy.
- Conduct generative research.
- Facilitate ideation sessions and usability sessions.
- Educate designers and product team members on conducting research.
- Champion analytic tools within our products, analyze, and report.
- Work with the wider UX Research teams within McKesson
- Design within a simple, user-centered design process
- Have design skills to transform ideas into creative, simple, and responsive designs under technology and time constraints
What Will Help You Excel?
- Experience working in healthcare, or other equally complicated domain
- Experience using Figma, Jira, other enterprise product management tools
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Critical Skills
- 4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
- Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
- Relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
- Proficiency in interaction design and understanding of the design system
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 3 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 3 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization.
- Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
- Experience in a variety of product spaces, applied research and/or academic settings.
- Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact.
- Proficiency in interaction design and understanding of the design system
