About the roleArul Health is the navigator beside every patient — a knowledgeable, tireless, compassionate presence for people and families moving through serious illness. We are a small Boston-based team of builders, caregivers, and patients who believe technology should reduce suffering, not add to it.
We are hiring a Business Analyst to be the person who turns our data into decisions. As we scale patient navigation across more families, hospitals, and partners, we need someone who can measure what is working, diagnose what is not, and keep the whole team honest about whether we are actually helping people. You will sit at the seam between operations, clinical, product, and finance — and the questions you answer will directly shape how Arul grows.
This is an early-stage role with wide surface area. You will build the dashboards, model the economics, write the requirements, and run the analyses that tell us where to invest next.
Why Arul
We take patients seriously. We protect dignity. We bring clarity to chaos. The analysis you do here is not abstract — it tells us whether families are getting help faster, whether navigators have what they need, and whether what we are building is actually working. If you want your numbers to mean something, come build with us.
What you’ll do
- Define and track the metrics that matter: patient outcomes, navigator productivity, response times, resolution rates, retention, and cost-to-serve.
- Build dashboards and reporting that the whole team actually uses, not vanity decks.
- Partner with operations and clinical leaders to map workflows, find bottlenecks, and design better ones.
- Translate business and clinical needs into clear requirements for product and engineering.
- Model unit economics, pricing, and partnership scenarios to inform strategy.
- Run ad-hoc analyses on patient, claims, and operational data to answer the questions leadership is asking (or should be).
- Help stand up the data foundations: sources, definitions, and governance that a healthcare company needs to grow safely.
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in business analysis, strategy, consulting, operations analytics, or a similar data-heavy role.
- Strong SQL and spreadsheet fluency.
- Sharp written communication. You can turn a messy dataset into a clear recommendation on a page.
- Structured thinking. You break ambiguous questions into tractable ones and know what is worth measuring.
- A real curiosity about healthcare and the people inside it.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, health tech, payer, provider, or life sciences environments.
- Familiarity with claims, EHR, or clinical data (HL7 / FHIR, CPT, ICD-10).
- Light modeling or scripting (Python / R) for analyses that outgrow a spreadsheet.
- Lived experience as a patient, caregiver, or navigator.
