I’m a banker with over 6 years experience, I have BA experience across the 6 years but not core BA work, this is the reason I decided to make a transition to Business Analysis. Tech has always been an interest to me growing up and Business Analysis is bridging the gap between were I am now and where I want to be in the tech space.
Your experience during the 6 weeks training..about the tools and project
During the 6 weeks, I learnt a lot especially collaborative work, communication which are like core skills for a BA. I also learnt how to use useful applications and hands on use of them. I literally feel like a more techy person.

Our trainer was really sweet, patient, and she takes her time to explain any thing that is not clear. She literally made sure our money didn’t waste.

The experience was worth it in all ramifications. The applicable tools were actually easy to use and learn. The only thing was that the time for indept and thorough learning of the various tools was truly limited.

Well as usual when you start something new, something you have no clue about, one tends to get confused and frustrated at the beginning but as you give yourself into the whole process then you start to understand more and more and you start enjoying the whole process. That’s how my process has been, also the workload has been tedious but it’s worth the time and effort at the end of the day.

Petrina is just an awesome human being so positive and she takes her time with us teaching us like kids ?. she is someone everybody would like to have as a teacher and she relates with us like we have known each other for a long time. I must say this though at the beginning of the class i didn’t feel this way and i guess its was because the whole course was new and confusing to me ?

I liked the whole idea behind the company heels and tech because they give you the practical hands-on approach to their courses. The courses are valid in the real world and also the owner Bisola has been such a wonderful friend? to me and mentor , she relates with me and everyone like she is family and we like that about her. Now I believe that nothing you set your mind to can’t be done or achieved as long as you endure the horrid beginnings there is a light at the end of the tunnel. BA for me has changed my mindset that anything is possible as long as you want it for yourself. A month ago i had no idea of what BA is but now i can say i have more than a clue and also hands-on experience which will help me in the real world.

I am a hospital pharmacist, practicing for over 18 years, with a background in clinical pharmacy, public health, supply chain, research and retail sales. I am open to new challenges, hence I look for every opportunity to take on new projects and make improvements around my workspace; especially in the area of improving work process with the
use of technology. Although I have acquired some computer skills on my own over the years , I knew I needed more professional touch to improve and strengthen them. In addition, I needed to achieve this by leveraging on an interactive training program. One blessed day, I came across Heels and tech on Instagram. I liked their vision and I decided to make enquiries, the next day, H and T was being promoted on You tube by a reliable channel and that was what strengthened my resolve to sign up for the BA course, even without having the funds at that time.

The six weeks training I had, went by like a flash. I hardly realized that 6 weeks had passed because the training was beyond hands-on. We had a project to deliver in such a short timeframe and this completely transformed me into a Business Analyst by the end of the 2nd week! The tools were awesome and I wish I knew about them earlier, as my previous projects would have been much easier. I got to learn how to use MS office, Jira, Canva and lucid chart. I would still be making an understatement if I made any comment about Petrina. She is so soft spoken, yet highly professional and firm! She demanded a positive mindset and an input of 110% from us, and she never settled for less! Very energetic and available to all, even on a personal level. Henceforth, she’s my role model and gold standard for an instructor.

About heels and tech, this is a great platform I must say. When I found this platform I was convinced that I was going to do those courses. I actually had the plans to do three courses before this year runs out. But I chose two do to the change of my job. So BA now and Product Management later. Perhaps you guys can let me know when this program begins. Please keep up the good work to raise awareness about African women generally, especially in Nigeria, so that they can be aware of their potential and bear in mind that their jobs don’t end in the kitchen and the other rooms.

The mindset I have now is to keep progressing. What i have learnt is a solid foundation of things to come. Although I may not look for a job as a BA explicitly, I’ll find ways to apply what I have learnt in my workspace when some opportunities come up.

My trainer was/is awesome. I can’t even count or describe how awesome. The soothing relief in her voice and the so much positivity exudes and she loads us. I absorb the positivity so much that I begin to harness all the courage I can find within me. I studied Estate management and valuation and I also have a masters in managerial psychology. However, I have been working in the music industry for the 3years and 4months now.

I had been hearing that tech is the new oil but I was very scared of coding, left to me- anything tech involved coding, until I stumbled on HeelsandTech, a platform that helps people transform into tech which necessarily doesn’t require coding. It made me happy and I was inquisitive. So, I paid for the BA class and it started.
The training was enlightening, there were a lot of tools to explore, many of them I had never heard of before and it was so nice to know that tools like that existed. I love challenges, so I was happy to participate and learn a lot during class activities. The project we worked on was eye opening, I’ve seen websites but I’ve never really known how it comes to play. So, going through the entire process one after the other was such a delight.

Our trainer, was so calm and patient. She doesn’t mind going over something over and over again, you must understand it. She carries everyone a long. She explains well and made the whole process seamless for us. She is very good too, she knows her onions and she’s very informed. She knows her job and I’m definitely aspiring to be like her. I decided to take the BA course with heels and tech and to be honest it was an all hands on deck from start to finish, the course prepares you for the actual job.The instructor never got upset for dragging her backwards or asking too many questions, she would take her time to explain and if time doesn’t permit her she would fix an out of class time to put you through, and always laid emphasis on using each tools as we proceeded with the project and also made sure we became familiar with most of the tools we would be using on the job.

The 7weeks training on business analysis was super packed, it was tasking and rewarding, we worked on a project, we learnt about tools and software that can be used to execute these projects like the jira board, slack, Microsoft office 365, we developed wireframes and prototypes, worked on business analysis plan, deliverables and lot more.

I studied Secretarial Administrative and also have Masters in International Business Management. I worked in the Financial Service sector for 15 years in Nigeria before relocation to Canada and my area of specialisation is majorly Customer Service and Administrative due to the fact that I have passionate solving problems.

At the beginning it seemed it was going to be tough and difficult for me to catch up. The fact that I was learning new things made it so interesting and educating. I had to put in extra hours to catch up with the class. Practising the trails on a regular basis is such a fun and ensuring that all assignments were reviewed before the next class really helped.

My experience so far has been eye opening, phenomenal and interesting. I am not surprised I enjoyed my training, because when I put my mind to something I believe I can achieve it with the help of God. Salesforce is a Customer Relationship Management tool( there are others) and CRM in a lay man’s term helps to manage a company’s customer data. The interesting thing is that there is a free platform for you to learn all you need to know about the Salesforce where you learn hands on, but taking the course has taught me more than I would have learnt on the free platform, because you are learning from people who are already doing it. I have learnt to;
- Unlock user accounts or resetting passwords when they forget their passwords.
- To add Single sign on(SSO) and two factor authentications when requested.
- Fixing data records that have been set with record types.
- Import leads and contact.
- Deactivate users due to their departure from the company or transfer.
- Reassigning roles and profiles etc.
I will use Facebook as an example, when you forget your password it a salesforce admin that resets it and a whole lot of other things.

My trainer is a rare kind of person. He is extremely patient, for a beginner like me, he has taken his time to bring this whole thing down to my level and made it easy to understand. He is an exceptional instructor and also very knowledgeable in his field. Learning under him has been worthwhile.
